Hieronder zie je het nieuwsbericht van Ringwood raceway dat het circuit gaat sluiten nadat er bijna 60 jaar gereden is, er worden nu nog 3 wedstrijd wedstrijden gereden met op 6 en 7 augustus de afscheidswedstrijd. Natuurlijk wordt er nog wel gerpobeerd om het circuit open te houden of om het seizoen af te maken maar dit zal wel moeilijk zijn.

BREAKING NEWS: Ringwood Raceway to shut in August.

Craig Robinson has posted the following statement:

FAREWELL RINGWOOD RACEWAY!

We have to report that Ringwood Raceway unfortunately is set to close its doors for motorsport for the last EVER EVENT on the weekend of Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th AUGUST 2022.

We have been served notice by the landowners in the lead up to their hopefull planning application.

Currently all motorsport is set to end at this iconic venue with just 2 meetings left before regrettably we have to close the doors for the final time in Ringwood Raceways long history of oval racing with oval racing taking place at the Matchams complex since 1954.

Currently there is no room to add any meetings due to the legal high court order that has existed since 2006, and our fixture dates have to stop in June July & august as a whole except for the Speedweekend and the event scheduled on June 25th, there is no legal way for us to adjust this and therefore we have to go with what dates are left to comply with that order. 

A long history of racing and lots of memories have been made along the way by many families, and we are truly saddened to be learning that without planning being approved that the landowners have decided this is unfortunately 

the end of the road

We of course will keep everyone updated as we are working hard to try to save what we can of the season and without planning approval being granted at present, we are currently looking at all angles to resolve further opportunities of racing at Ringwood Raceway.

However with the situation presented to us we find ourselves in a very unfortunate position especially as no planning permission has been given to the landowners.

As it stands our last ever 2 events will be held on:

Saturday 25th June 

the event scheduled is the 4 a side team micro bangers event this is now bring changed to micro bangers in order to give more drivers the opportunity to race one last time as we feel everyone has the opportunity this way to build a micro banger for one last blast! 

We expect there to be a bumper crowd for this event as it is the penultimate event before we say goodbye! Bookings will be open on Wednesday for micro bangers, currently junior bangers list is showing and a good booking list already, the adults bookings will be capped so please book as soon as the booking list is open!and add to that the junior bangers UK open championship is also scheduled and a fantastic list is already showing.

We will keep everyone updated but urge both classes to book in as soon as possible so as to avoid disappointment as this will be a cap on driver entry. 

Moving forward to what normally is our Speedweekend on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th August this will now be changed to an all banger fixture to give the grand old lady one final blast!

Unlimited bangers will be the choice of class to run over both days and we will have to cap both days so further details will follow later this week!

Drivers are urged to get booking in as soon as possible again this will be very busy and will be on a first come first booked basis.

FAREWELL RINGWOOD RACEWAY meeting will follow midweek as we fine tune an event not to be missed!

Please join us for these last 2 events and show support that racing is needed and wanted and just maybe we can all save the oldest oval raceway in the UK.

We anticipate the 2 day event in August will sell out to a bumper crowd, we are also confident that the micro meeting on June 25th will also be at capacity.
